Personal Information
BACKGROUND
I am originally from Warroad, Minnesota. I earned my undergraduate degree at Gustavus Adolphus College and received my doctorate from Washington State University.
Having grown up in northern Minnesota (as opposed to southern Minnesota which is much warmer and more populated), I am a high school and college hockey fan. My favorite college teams include the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux, the Bemidji State Beavers and, of course, the Gustavus Adolphus Gusties. I have two young children, so I have a very limited amount time for hobbies. However, I still find a little time for running and an occasional hike.
My wife (Angie) and I live north of Spokane with our son Jayden, our daughter Holly and our cat (Mia). Before coming to Gonzaga, I was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Weber State University in Ogden, UT. Prior to that, I was an Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Southern Indiana, in Evansville, IN.

Here are some recent pictures of my family. They are presented chronologically, so the older ones won't include Holly.
